Effect of the Music Therapy for Peri–menopausal Women

    Abstract

    The purpose ofthis study were to identify the effects of the music therapy on depression and quality of life in peri-menopausal women. A quisi-experimental with non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was implemented. The participants consisted of 50 perimenopausal women(experimental group:25, control group:25). The music therapy program was developed by the investigators. The music therapy program consisted of 30-minute music. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, χ2 test and paired t-test using the 21.0 Program. After the program was conducted the depression and quality of life were significantly improved. The findings indicate that music therapy was effective in depression and quality oflife for peri-menopausalwomen.
